One of her first lessons on Curly (January 2004)

Bethanie started riding at Pinkmead just after her 6th birthday. Her first lesson was on Curly, who remained one of her favourite ponies as well as Sunny, Storm, Striker and Smokey. She progressed quickly through the levels, learnt to canter ( again on Curly ), hacked round the farm and when she was 7½ started learning to jump. Striker was definitely her firm favourite for this lesson. At about this time a pony called Pebbles came up for sale at Pinkmead,  and Bethanie became the proud owner of Pebbles ( Westwood Lula May ) at the end of 2005. She started having jumping lessons with Steph King in January 2006 and competing at local unaffiliated shows. She moved on at the end of 2006 to National affiliated shows competing mostly in the Under 10’s and Under 11’s classes at 90cm. Her greatest success to date has been 5th place at Pony of the Year show in April 2007 and qualification for the Scope Festival in August 2007. Bethanie has just sold Pebbles and now owns May, also from Pinkmead farm. She is hoping to qualify May for Hickstead and Horse of the Year Show within the next 2 years…………a real success story from Pinkmead.
